Thank you to our guests who have taken the trouble to send us their comments. We are very glad to find that the Old Silk Farm hasn't yet failed to enchant its visitors - but to keep it that way, we welcome all feedback!
Perfect, exquisite details & breathtaking views!
My family and I arrived a few days before Christmas to find a fresh cut Christmas tree and welcoming hospitality from the moment we arrived. We stayed through New Years and had an outstanding trip! It was the perfect way to spend the holidays. Kelvin was amazing with suggestions for planning prior to our trip, and while there the housekeeper Karine was incredibly helpful as well. We have two small children 6 years and 15 months that loved the cute children's room and den. We spent our days exploring the Ardeche and the Drome and meeting the wonderful people of Rochemaure. We are already planning a trip back later this year and planning to have other family members join us in the future. The house itself is amazing, the perfect combination of old and new, was immaculate and beautifully furnished. The kitchen was fantastic, as was the gorgeous fireplace. The people of the area are really friendly, one afternoon a local hunter saw us as we were leaving the driveway and we were given a fresh cut of wild boar. In town we met the most wonderful shop owners and even received a freshly found truffle as a gift!
We will be back soon for sure and now look forward to experiencing it in the warmer months as well!

Wonderful venue to entertain friends of all ages
It is a beautifully decorated and thought-out house with many different terraces/areas to sit out whether around the pool or the main house or cottage area. The room layouts and arrival directions were most helpful and the handover comprehensive / charming with later back up. The modern kitchen was well equipped and everything was wonderfully clean. We would love to return.

Stunning large freshly-restored french farm house
Eleven family and friends met for a week of sun and fun. The house was perfect for a multi-generational gathering (5 to 85), with large and gracious living areas, designer furniture, and a superb state-of-the-art kitchen. The bedrooms were fresh and comfortable. Friendly and efficient booking and stress-free visit. All this with a fabulous panoramic view was more than we expected. Look forward to returning!

Perfection personified - simply fabulous!
This is quite simply the perfect holiday villa - designer chic yet luxuriously comfortable. We stayed with our family and a big group of friends in August 2013 and had a fabulous time. The interior design is breathtaking, the pool is stunning, and views are inspiring. The owners have thought of every detail to create the perfect accommodation and it all fits together perfectly. We cannot wait to go back...

Lots of options, all of them great!
You should strongly consider doing absolutely nothing while you stay here, because this place is perfectly suited for doing just theta. The pool is inviting, and once you have made the daily pilgrimage into town for the croissants and baguettes, you may just want to idle by the pool, lounge inside if it's too hot, and eat and drink yourself silly on the local fare. If, however, you are of the adventurous persuasion, you are an easy distance to Avignon, fabulous Cote-du-Rhone vineyards, and great local markets. We did an overnight trip to the Haute Savoye during our week which is also a fantastic destination and just 2.5 - 3 hours by car from this house.
Should you choose the 'do nothing' option, the comfortable, spacious house provides lots of space to unwind. It is easy enough to get into town, but the property is well removed from town and offers lots of peace and quiet. The bedrooms are appointed simply but elegantly, and the views are spectacular from nearly every window, looking out over the Rhone valley across to the foothills of the Alps. The greatest burden of your day may be keeping up with your sunscreen or refilling your glass. Quel dommage!

STUNNING!
This place is stunning! It's close enough to civilisation to make travel easy but far enough away from the town to be quiet and secluded. The house is beautifully converted with every luxury both inside and out. Lounging next to the pool you look out over the beautiful Rhone valley and after a long summers day you can watch the sun set behind the Alps in the distance before spending a few hours looking for shooting stars. If you ever get fed up with relaxing by the pool or soaking up the views then head off and spend a day paddling down the Ardêche or explore the town of Montelimar in the valley below. I've stayed here twice with a large group of friends and can really recommend it as the place to unwind and enjoy life at its best.

Luxury home with outstanding pool and views!
Fabulous property with outstanding views! If you are looking for a very private and spacious home from home, equipped to the highest possible standard and with every possible amenity, then this is the place for you. Newley renovated, the house itself is large, stunning and very private so no issues with noisy neighbors! The pool and sun terrace are faulous - a great size with uninterrupted views across the valley. Easily accessible if driving from the UK - a car recommended to bring back all the wine and nougat!

A massage for the soul...
Everything about this place has something a little bit special about it, from the moment you pull up in the shade of the mulberry tree (made complete with a selection of rope swings), you know you have made the right holiday destination decision. First of all, without being even the least bit overwhelming, it is big..! The feeling of space is heightened by the spectacular views over the valley, unbroken all the way to the foothills of the Alps in the distance. As for the house? It is beautiful. If you are reading this, you will have seen the photographs, and wonderful photographs they are, but they only hint at the luxurious 'feel' of the place. Every room, without exception, is furnished to the highest standards (with original designer furnishings, yes I checked the labels...!). If you like to cook, you are in for a treat with the Bulthaup kitchen surpassing the needs of even the most demanding of culinary adventures. If you don't like to cook, just sit and look at the kitchen, it is a work of art in itself...!
The grounds of the Silk Farm are also a delight. The pool area takes full advantage of the views from its surrounding terraces and the pool itself (salt water, of course..!) is warm enough for a midnight swim under the stars (a very nice computer assisted telescope is also provided to bring them just that bit closer..!).Below the pool terrace is the Boule terrace and below that fruit trees edge the meadow as it ambles its way to the valley floor. It is heavenly.

Amazing property!
Our extended family, consisting of 16 people between 10-74, had the pleasure of staying a week at the Silk Farm in July 2013. We had never visited Provence before this trip, but all the gorgeous photos on the website had our expectations set high. Let me tell you right away, they were all exceeded and then some! The enormous house has all the amenities you need, outside as well as inside. We got a feeling of luxurious living while the house also felt intimate and charming. The house felt spacious even though we were 16 there. The well-equipped kitchen and the beautiful table and grill outside led us to having most of our meals at the house. We loved the porches, the boccia field and the swimming pool area. We spent many hours playing, relaxing, swimming and sunbathing in these areas. The beautiful surrounding areas were used for recreational walks and morning jogs. We also drove to several villages nearby. The opportunities are endless. Our stay at the Old Silk Farm was easily the highlight of the Summer 2013 and we will not hesitate to recommend a stay to all of our friends.

The most beautiful private residence!
We have travelled extensively, stayed in many amazing private homes and must admit The Old Silk Farm surpasses them all! The attention to detail, the comfort of the home, the location and most of all the personal assistance we received from the owners; made our stay so memorable. We cannot wait to return!!

The most perfect get away with ultimate luxury
Our family had the perfect holiday here in 2012. It is like a set from a film, with the house being visually stunning, surrounded by open space with stunning views. Everything about this place is so luxurious. The living space offers great flexibility with inside and out huge dining tables, various seating areas (formal lounge and a real cave for the kids to hang out in ! ). The pool area is amazing with space to lie out on the loungers soaking up the sun and the views. A shaded courtyard means you can get out the sun and play some table tennis or other games.
The locality offers superb food to buy for long lunches or getting really creative in the most perfect kitchen (2 dishwashers, 2 big fridges, really well stocked with loads of plates, cutlery, good knives etc). There are some excellent restaurants near by with advice on where to go provided, although sometimes we also selected our own and have never been disappointed.
The wine available locally was a joy to discover. My personal favourite was visiting the Louis Latour estate just over the mountain, where you need to get your partner to drive so you can enjoy tasting different years of their wines as well as their great range.
I cannot stress enough what a delight staying at this property has been; hopefully the photos reinforce my strong recommendation.

Why am I not keeping this a secret to me and my friends?
I travelled from my office in London to this amazing conversion via the Eurostar, Paris RER and TGV within six hours, easily and in air-conditioned comfort. There I caught up with a large group of friends for dinner on the terrace overlooking the Rhone valley, before plunging into the pool for a moonlit swim under the shooting stars. Fabulous!
The house is fantastic: it is beautifully designed, with large communal areas, a variety of stylish bedrooms, two very high spec kitchens that facilitate catering to large groups, plenty of loos and parking, a boules court, table tennis table and, of course, the pool.
And then there's the surrounding countryside to explore: up the hill to the back you have miles of scrub woodlands to explore or run in, before you get to the Ardeche with its amazing gorges and rivers to paddle down, vineyards to visit and Roman ruins to ramble around. Down the hill there is Rochemaure's chateau (before you climb all the way up to it, do check it is actually open!), go-karting, Go Ape!-style high-wires and Montelimar's nougat factories and markets, before you get to the Drome, the splendour of Avignon and some pretty fancy wineries.

The perfect space creating the perfect holiday
Being off and away seeking out new bolt holes all the time we don't often get house envy - but The Old Silk Farm did have me wondering if it was possible to buy shares.. This place is just stunning in appearance, views and facilities. A week with good friends was always going to be special, but woven into this property made it bliss, we actually didn't venture beyond the boulangerie to pick up fresh bread and croissants for several days, because between the pool and boules pit we didn't need to go anywhere! Thick walls keep the bedrooms cool in the hot summer nights, and you sleep like a baby in crisp bed sheets - the only noises coming from cicadas. Entertaining is easy, there is ample space indoors and out for about 20 people (although there were only 16 of us) and the main living room has sofas which are meant for curling up on (and trying to stay awake because they are so comfy!). And enough bathrooms to ensure no fights! Once we did venture beyond our haven, there is loads to do in the area, and some fabulous walks. It was a magical stay where going home was a real wrench.. We will be returning!

Spectacular place for a holiday
The first view of the house as you drive up the hill is amazing, and the place gets better and better. The description on the site cannot do it justice, the living spaces are gorgeous, the fixtures and fittings are top quality, and we all loved lazing by the pool one day, swimming in the nearby rivers another, and eating and drinking and being very merry. Certainly a place to take friends and family for a relaxing holiday, a real home from home where every little detail has been thought about, well recommended and looking forward to next year's holiday at the Old Silk Farm already.

Take me back to The Old Silk Farm!
Where do I start?
This is a beautiful, elegant property set in the most stunning scenery. We could have happily just kicked back and just swim a few lengths each day while lapping up the view.
But that wouldn't have been us.
Instead we had wonderful drives through the Ardeche, next time we'll hire a canoe for sure.
We bought fine wines in nearby Alba, with plenty of friendly advice (you don't always get that in France).
We bought great food in the markets and cooked up a storm most nights in the excellently equipped kitchens.
If you're looking for a touch of luxury, with elegance, style and a pool with the best view then do go to The Old Silk Farm. When you look at the price per person it isn't even expensive, and there's enough space to get away on your own when you want to.
We will be back!
